denali is coming here. another good thing. so is belle & sebastian. definitely a good thing.

I save approximately $1700 dollars a year by not smoking cigarettes. That's around $135-$140 a month if you figure that a pack costs $4.50. The first year I quit, I bought myself a new guitar. This year, I bought a decent digital camera to get started with. Next year, who knows... maybe a lighting kit or something.

Yeah, "scene" kids can be really disgusting. The dancing has become a widespread symptom of the current state of live music. Would you agree that fashion has really become the focal point of most new music? I see guys who will buy a CD, post on a message board about how it's the "best album ever created", then one of the scene elite will say something negative to the affect of "that music is shit" or other witty and well thought out statements, and the same kid who loved it before will suddenly be like "uhhh, I was wrong and yer right, it sucks ass." The same guys will reluctantly tell you about bands they are into and always finish it negatively, an example being: "Yeah dude, I love Saves the Day, but they kind of suck now that".
I wonder who they're trying to impress? All of these young fashion victims are too cynical to really even care about anything beyond their own noses.
I am equally perplexed by the mentality of hardcore/rock kids.

Yay!!!!! I'm soooo happy for you!!!!! I know it's hard to quit. I did about 5 years ago, and I was a HEAVY smoker. One day I just said fuck it I'm not doing this anymore and I haven't since. Not to say that I don't still crave one on occasion, but I would hate myself if I had one after this long!
