It's funny about this whole "Question Mark Kid". The Columbine shootings started a wave (or rather, continued) a wave of highschool violence. And now, it's carrying over into college life. And you're absolutely right, you and your girl. Humans torment each other for being different. I know I was. Skinny girl, quiet, shy, straight A student, a strange name, glasses, braces, the works. I was a freak, a druggy, a goth, a raver, a rocker, a skater....but I was never popular, and always made fun of. Here's the twist. So many people go through this abuse, but few actually let it build up so much that they end up exploding. I took my anger and used it....whether it was abusing myself, partying too hard, or redirecting later on towards activism and alternative lifestyles, I always had something to do with all my anger.
So, the question is not only how do we get people to stop the tormenting, because that's impossible...but how do you help people deal with those emotions that are brought on by the abuse?

I love to travel, but all my traveling this year is either to the west coast or new york...wait, I may be driving through in June. I gotta go to the family reunion in Arkensas. Yes.
