wow. anybody catch the opening ceremonies for the Olympics last night?
what a spectacle!
i hadn't planned on watching, but i was roped in, and, i have to say, i enjoyed it greatly. TONS of fireworks, from the people that invented them. it was pretty awesome, if not extra cheesy to listen to. the commentary, that is.
our prez looked bored out of his mind. of course. checking his watch, then laura checking hers. being cued to clap for iraq, and then standing for USA!!!! and then, no more footage!? what, did he leave? probably.
it was an incredible thing to watch, though.
i just hope china's prez realizes it is going to take a fuckton more than the Olympics, their spectacle, and saying repeatedly how they wish to change the way the world views china, for that change to actually happen. sorry, big guy, you can't change my mind with fireworks and the first entirely green city.
how 'bout you give people the rights they deserve? and that whole Tibet thing, i think you know what has to happen. until then, it's fuck you, buddy! maybe in 2024.
