At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month

Tomorrow all across the isles of Britain many will gather. Upon there breast shall adorn in red green and black the flower off Flanders Field, The humble poppy. This symbol of remembrance it’s poignant knowledge etched in hearts and minds. Some recall the loss of father mother brother or sister or sons and daughters or even just the old man from the pub who used to tell his stories or kept his council but everyone knew there legend. Though those whom are remembered may even have been a young man lost in more recent conflict. As the sound of the bugle fades in the last note of the last post standards held high are laid low and silence reigns as we remember.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We shall remember them.

This being the closest Sunday to the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. This day was the day peace was declared during the war to end all wars, the Great War 1914 -1918 but is used to remember all conflicts.

'When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.'
