10 year go . Well it was supposed to be a normal day.

I remember it was a cool Tuesday morning and I had gotten up early for 8 a.m. calculus discussion session. I had not hit the books in any serious way that semester. It was early enough in the semester and I was waiting for the class to be over so I could go to the gym. On my way to the gym I saw a couple watching the Television at the school's bowling alley . I asked what was going on and then saw the smoke coming out of the towers.

I tried to go about my day after that , it did not feel real to me. It just felt like another tragedy on TV, but I could not focus. I tried to work out , but no matter what I did I could not get warm. I sweated , but it felt like cold sweat. I got out of there and got changed. I stopped by the bowling alley, a small crowd had gathered there. The silence of the crowd was not the only surreal things. the entire crowd was watching TV in stunned silence. We all stood about 3 feet a part from one another and watched in silence. Then they replayed footage of the second tower getting hit and then we all watched in silence.

I watched until the towers collapsed and then went to a computer lab to work on some school stuff. I stayed there until the closed down campus and we all went home. Then I watched TV and saw the footage of the towers fall so many times I lost count.

i was supposed to take the oath to become an American citizen on September the 12th 2001. Instead I ended up taking the oath on October the 12 , 2001. A month later I stood with many other immigrants and pledge allegiance to this country and became American citizens. All the immigrants in that room pledged allegiance proudly knowing full well the country has flaws, problems and very real enemies.

Sometimes I can be very cynical about things, but I love this country. There are some many freedoms in this country for people in this country. Is it perfect ? no. Can it better ? yes, But it is filled with possibilities and it is a place where dreams can come true and some nightmares are very real , but I wanted to be part of it. I looked at all the craziness, the exaggerations, the mistakes , the trouble and the wrongs to be righted in this country and I wanted to contribute.

In closing. To all the girls and members thanks for being creative and crazy. Thanks for being you.

Next blog much lighter stuff. I will show you my new project and talk about comic book art.
