This has been either the worst day of my life or the luckiest. My supervisor gave me the heads up that they would be firing most of us in about two weeks, so I took the day off to put out applications. Sadly, I was thwarted at every opportunity as this car: decided to break down on Cross County Highway, several miles from home. I was without my cell phone and started walking towards civilization when a guy stopped and gave mech a ride to the gas station.
As if that wasn't lucky enough, as I'm standing at the payphone I look over and see my dad's truck. He was getting lunch for himself and just happened to pick that restaurant and was there at the exact time I was standing there. He laughed and ended up buying me lunch.
We got the car towed and it needs a new water pump and radiator which I'm not sure how I'll pay for it.
Undaunted, I continued searching for employment in this truck:

and had applied some more places when the truck broke down as well!!! This time it was in the middle of a busy intersection and some people helped me push it out of the road. I hadn't walked ten feet from the truck, when my mom happened by. She gave me a ride home and dad and I managed to get the truck started and back home. I didn't go to my night job since I'm without wheels, but I did manage to finally get my friend a birthday present. All in all, I'm proud of myself because no matter how many times I wanted to just go home and crawl back into bed, I persevered and stayed positive. So that's my new mantra stay positive and good things will keep happening.

sounds like the moral of the story is when everything seems to be going wrong your parents will always be there for you. all these things seem like big issues right now, but they are just minor blips on the sonar of life. i have learned not to sweat the little things in life, because they are not worth fretting over. smile
