This week we raced each other to see who could disassemble and reassemble a desktop the fastest. I got disqualified because I couldn't get the CPU off of the motherboard because some jackass glued the heat sync to it. I must be a complete dork because I can't think of anything more fun and satisfying than taking a computer completely apart (well maybe there's one or two things more fun) This is why I think PCs will always be more popular than MACs. If something is wrong with my server I'll grab my tool kit, count the number of beeps and head to Microcenter for the new component. If my IBOOK goes on the fritz, I take it to the MAC store and pray that one day it will be returned to me. There's always been that DIY mentality to a PC that makes most users think that no matter what happens to the PC they could fix it themselves if they had to. (Which reminds me I need to replace the battery on my cousin's E-machine Sunday)
I decided to finally get my MSCA certification so that I can get a promotion at work, and ultimately a bigger apartment, without a roommate. He's one of my dearest friends, but he'd be an even better one if I didn't have to always clean up after him. I'm also not thrilled that my building is less than 500 feet from my folks house. I used to didn't mind that they could see my parking space and note my comings and goings, but I'm sick of them calling every evening when I get home from work to make a run to the store for them.
I'm also meeting with this model friend of mine for coffee to discuss her posing for a few shots since I decided to finally update my portfolio. Later that day, I meet with a new client to discuss his ideas for the new website he wants me to build him. I'll probably head to CYBERCLASH to take pictures of the festivities.
I also agreed to shoot and produce the behind the scenes documentary for the movie my friend is making in late May. He claims that there's a potential national distributor for it, so someone could actually see my behind the scenes documentary. He's also suckered me into taking a small role in it. I only agreed because the movie features porn stars and zombie luchadors and that always spells quality.
Well there are cold beers to drink and you can't have your second until you finish your first.
