I was in Cherry Fork, Ohio last night feeling extremely guilty. Roughly half of my friends were working the HWA show up in Georgetown and the other half were working either WWC, WAR or IWA-Mid South I don't really have to help with road shows because most aren't taped for production, but I'll occasionally go and show support for my buddies and the free beer.
I chose to go with my pals from the WWC because I hadn't been there in a while and I hadn't seen my friends there in a while, plus the owner is a great guy. He's got some new competition from a new rival promotor who's been using dirty tricks and tactics like scheduling shows on the exact same night in nearby venues and tearing down their flyers and signs.
His new rivals were actually supposed to buy his company but dragged his feet and eventually tried to get it at half the original agreed upon price. When the owner refused he went off and started his own wrestling company up, raiding talent by promising bigger paydays and getting to work better known talent.
I ultimately decided that my help and support was needed more at the WWC show and I did get to see a very special appearance by the enigmatic Mr. Jacko as he lost yet again, this time to Kara Kildare.
The show went pretty well and I got to catch up with Rory, who I hadn't seen in months. It was great catching up with him and I'm going to see if I can go to his upcoming Fairfield show but I don't think I'll be back from Toronto in time.
There have been so many great sets lately my head is spinning. Let me just say that I
Mayana's set and my crush on her has been renewed
