Hey folks

Well, today I'm trying not to be a total jackoff and totally waste my day off. I tried to steel myself to try some drawing but the cats insisted on crawling into my lap while I was doing it. Then I tried working for a while on learning STP's "Plush" acoustic version from a youtube tutorial video. Most of it is not super...

Hello again.

Well, the day after my last post, I went out to make my delivery in the boston area, and it was one of the worst days of my life, in trucking, and that's saying something. I got the truck stuck in an icy loading area where I didn't have room to get to where I needed to go, or to get back out...

New update time I spose.

I had a load out to boston today. I was not feeling real keen about heading out into my second major winter storm in a row. I got about a mile from my house in my car and I decided it just wasn't worth the risk of getting into an accident to be on time with few tons of dog...

And how far from Boston? It seems the cheapest, although JFK and Newark are still a couple hundred less than HVN.
thora:
I don't drive but Fatality said there's a train that goes there from NYC and it's $7! I'll have to ask her if it's right at the airport because I need to know how light I'll need to pack. You know how we goths like our convention wardrobe, it's like a personal battleship!

Hey

Well, right at the moment I'm in the projects outside of downtown buffalo. It would have been a good time to have my bike aboard but since the weather's turned bad and I decided just to park my car behind the motel next to the truck stop near my residence, I've gotten lazy with respect to the bike. I could walk into downtomwn buffalo...

Yeah, Don't Follow isn't really one of their better known songs, anyway. No one bothers with the short album.

... and yeah, I've been listening to the song I posted and the one you mentioned a LOT lately.
fred:

Yeah playing music is good times.
Maybe you can bring a guitar and pair of bongos with you everywhere you go.

How about a nice story of the last few days of my fabulous life?

Well, last week I had two loads, and my second load got a little behind schedule because I had to head down to allentown PA for a meeting with a safety twit after my accident taking out the telephone pole earlier this month. I told my boss Brandon that I didn't...

We don't do NYC or the Island at all. I get close sometimes -- places like Jersey City. But never any of the boroughs of NYC itself. And that is fine with me. I've always figured that it was mostly the big companies going to such places... because independent drivers or companies small enough to give a shit about their drivers simply couldn't be bothered with the bullshit. It simply isn't worth the time wasted or the massive liability of simply being there.

This has been an off year for me regarding the bottom line. I expect to come in UNDER $50k for 2007. But I've taken a lot of time off. More than my share of 4-5 day weekends, and I had 6 weeks off (unpaid leave) early in the year. Plus the vacation time. But despite the lower grand total, I really appreciate the fact that they LET me do such things.

Everyone's blown opportunites. This egocentric psychic in Paris once told me that I had 3 chances (for what, I don't know) and blew 2.

Hey everyone.

Overnight at the TA in Binghamton NY tonight.

My hands are getting a little rough from work. My old GF Erica told me at least once that I have beautiful hands. Which I guess I've often thought myself. But now I'm getting older and working them pretty hard for a living and they show it. Bah.

I've decided that what I want for...

Aaah, you can tell almost as much abt a person by their hands as u can by their eyes. I *always* look at ppls hands right away when I meet them ... they are *so* revealing! I'm glad your hands are rougher now and have flaws ... it shows depth and character. It shows you WORK for things, have BEEN places and arent a wuss, lol.

I love your replies to my journals, Im glad I met you. U really are an interesting person. And what in my journal did I say that revealed my old age? LOL! I dont try to hide my age, I embrace it .. I welcome it. I think with age brings wisdom and beauty, but thats just me.

Greetings from glorious Rochester.

I was actually thinking this might be sort of a nice part of Rochester, but actually it's a bit of a blah part of town. But I did find a noncorporate eatery called hots where I got a mediocre dinner and got to watch House for the first time in a while.

Night before last I had a dream where I...

I like the 'for Dummies' books. I used it for my ACT and for AP Bio in high school. I passed, so that is some evidence for you.

I'm not feeling too good right now. Had my biggest mishap yet with the truck a couple of days ago, I sideswiped a telephone pole and broke it off at its base, when I was pulling into a parking lot. I should have known better than to do this account, because it puts me in all kinds of places too small for a big truck....

Man, I totally get u on the cam issue. I kept hearing rants and raves abt the digi rebel, blah blah this n that ... and Ive never been a canon person. So after losing dozens of bids on nikons and minoltas, I gave it a shot at a rebel and won the first bid I made. I'm not really diggin it that much, I was expecting *more*. The hype was overdone for sure!

Salome and I are both from Chicago, thats why we're such cool ppl, lol. I might ask for her hand in marriage someday, haha! Such a sweet, genuine girl.

Anyways, be sure to stop by for the next drill session!

Hey there again folks.

It is perhaps to cultivate self indulgence and banality to blog too often, but on the other hand, some noteworthy writer once said that he always wrote down his dreams so as to preserve what would otherwise spill over and be lost.

So anyway, earlier today I had a moment of stepping outside my mind, and examining the thoughts therein from...

It struck me as a slightly odd thing to say.

In some ways I should probably even feel insulted. The idea that there's clearly a stereotype out there regarding those who work in various occupations.
gwenness:
how do you keep getting into accidents? that freaking sucks.
(and i'm sorry to hear that).

some metal is pretty resilient, but, silver, at least this particular ring, was not.
the design was ridiculously complex. when i dropped it, it landed at an angle so that the top of the lid slid. you can't torch a box ring too many times or the air inside expands and creates holes in the soldering, or the sides come undone. so. it can be kind of tricky, from what i've been told and experienced.
i could fire more silver on top of those holes and file it down to look like it was there. but. other than that.... that's prety much all i can do.
the bottom lattice is destroyed,
smushed,
and that took hours to set up just to solder. so. i dont know.......
the assignment's over but i think i'll work on it for my own portfolio when i have time.
ceramics can be hard. losing pieces is always hard.
i know all the glass majors are so carefree. i cant imagine pouring hours into something and then watching it shatter and just being like "eh alright". i guess it's pretty easy to reuse chips and things though.....
hm. tongue

Hey folks

Reporting tonight from Inwood NY. I delivered a load here today, and it wasn't all that great a day. Not exactly terrible, but not great. There were three people assisting me to unload the trailer but they were perhaps the slowest lollygagging jackoffs I've delivered to yet. It took ten hours to unload the truck but with that much help it really only...

Yes it is amazing the talent you find tucked away in coffee shops etc. Went to a party on the weekend and there was a small blues band playing. Invited me in for one number but I haven't played for years - I was embarassingly bad!!! LOL.
But do learn to play. I doesn't matter if you're never particularly good. It's just fun playing with friends.
