Hello everyone

Or maybe everyone is more people than read my blog but anyway

I kind of blew off work today. I wasn't entirely sure that I had the day off, and not wanting to be told "no" i didn't ask anyone at work that I could have asked. It was not completely ridiculous to make the assumption, I had a monster truckload of soda to deliver last friday, and it seemed pretty obvious, at least at that time, that I had that monster load because there wouldn't be any delliveries today. But whatever. They called me this morning to ask where the hell I was. They had an extra driver and I had one floating holiday left, so the world will still spin madly on.

I was thinking that hopefully soon SG will allow you to have a musical theme for your journals so that I can have lugubrious violin music for my whiny downer entries.

I picked up a bass geetar a couple weeks ago, an ibanez gsr200. I haven't been practicing it quite as much as I probably should but I've been playing a little more regular geetar in my available time. Pretty well flattened my fingertips yesterday. Working for coke doesn't pay so well you're gonna go out and buy houses and yachts but i have a couple more guitars and amplifiers this year. The three thousand for a sony A900 camera is still a tough number for me, but I really want one.

I guess the whiny downer part of my journal entry will just be something like, I don't know if it's just because I'm not a grownup or I just don't have a head for business, but something I've picked up about various creative endeavours you might attempt to make a living at, is that you don't necessarily need much formal training to be, for example, a musician or a potter or a photographer; but often people in such fields will advise you that if you want to got into such fields you should major in business, So for me, being a real professional photographer would mean getting the inks for the printer I got, doing up the various color profiles so that photoshop would know what my computer screen characteristics and the characteristics of my inks are, and I would need to print out a bunch of pics, put them in mats and shrink wrap them, make an intensive search for craft shows that might be suitable venues for selling my pics, make the needed phone calls to get into those venues, get together some suitable setup to display my pics and go. So at any given moment, even though I hate the job overall, it is still easier to get up at 345 am and drive to greenfield to get in that coke truck and drive it around and toss soda for 12 hours, because at least with that I actually know what the hell I'm doing.

Whatever. Rome wasn't built in a day. I have a theory that as you get older and have more dead brain cells you get mellower and less susceptible to anxiety.

I think I will actually play something at open mic night, which I haven't done in a while, as most of the people there are way better than me and I feel pretty inadequate compared to them. I am a halfass singer but not much of a musician, at all.

Haven't been doing as much photography lately. Shooting dslrs I've finally been able to get the color that I could never get with 35mm and it shifted my interest from BW photography to color, and with the leaves off the trees I've got to shift gears back into a grey frame of mind.

You're probably right, but I am going to give it a last chance. Some ultimatum is probably in order I'm just not sure what yet. Anyways, good to hear from you; it's nice to know the big road didn't consume you. Sorry I've been bad following people's journals, school's been a bitch as of late. I'm going to pick up an instrument too, keep you posted. Also, in so much as my usual journals are public and the one you posted in reference to was private, I axed the comment. You give good advise, don't get me wrong, i just fear the wrong person coming across it.
BtW, do you get all the coke you can drink for free?
