I think that the secret that people who aren't neurotic have is that they are not neurotic.

There was a guy on the site, Kalischild, who posed the question "why do people have fear instead of blood in their veins?"

I think that generally it has to do with fear of losing your good standing at your job or other social position you have. A couple of years ago I was fired from my bookstore job for surfing the web at work, when really there wasn't a fucking thing else to do. And that sits on my resume and in my gut, that people are going to find that black mark on my resume and not hire me. It did hurt me in terms of not getting the exact company I had wanted to drive for as a truck driver, but I still got a couple of jobs anyway.

There are some people on the site who are great people but they make me feel like a failure because they live the marvellous lives of people who are not neurotic. They would never describe themselves this way, but they are roaring lions, relative to most people, in terms of the guts they have to just live their lives as themselves, as they want to be.

WHY? is the subject of gazillions of pages of thought and research; how to books on how not to live in fear, but I'm thinking now that the secret that non-neurotics have is simply that they are not neurotic.

I don't know how simple or not it is. They're just . . . not . . . neurotic.

Hey brother, good luck on the new endeavor. I think you've got 2 or 3 really boring days of "administration" ahead of you... but despite that I'm sure it's exciting at least in that it begins a whole new chapter of life. I do hope you enjoy it... despite the numerous difficulties the job has.

Myself, I love it just enough more than I hate it. smile

Androgyny comes very natural to me. Or maybe an omni-gender-thing, which, paradoxically, in the end means the same. wink
This set and it's sentiments, although not original, was still very important to me.
Thank you for the comment.
