Achtung, meine Damen und Herren

Well hey, 'tis saturday again. If you hadn't noticed already, 'tis and it's are the same word with the letters rearranged and pronounced differently.

It's raining out which is rather puts a damper on my plans, so to speak, of getting out and looking around at cars. I'm going to set myself up as a seller on ebay and see if I can't sell my stratus for enough to make a down payment on a newer vehicle. Then when I've got me a newer vehicle I shall sell my bike in the same manner and use the money as a transportation fund, against the need for repairs or other things for the awesome car that I shall hopefully manage to get. 'Tis also a possibllity that someone might give me enough of a trade in value for my bike that I would do that instead of making a cash down payment on a newer car.

Did a lot of backing up this week at truckin' school. I'm not quite an expert at it yet but I'm getting there. Yesterday a rep from TMC, a copmany that does flatbeds, came by, and he told me that the tarps they use weigh 100 lbs, and that kind of threw me because I was under the impression that their tarps were really light. I'm not at all sure that I can carry a 100 lb tarp up a 13 foot ladder. If I can do it I will, for the privilege of driving those trucks and making that kind of money just starting out. I want to get into their longhaul fleet which supposedly is 80% no-tarp anyway.

This week I had some thoughts about what makes people cool or dorks.

What I thought was that average people see things from an ordinary standpoint that other people can relate to.

People who are cool see things from a different standpoint than others, but in a manner that others can still relate to. People will find them superior, more perceptive.

People who are dorks see things from a different standpoint from ordinary perspectives, but in a manner that others do not relate to, do not empathize with or find interesting.

Being cool vs being a dork pertains to how well you are able to relate what you see to social or personal or emotional truths and then communicate what you see and understand to others.

I guess what I am is a dork who has a fairly expansive vision of things that others sometimes find interesting, although they still don't much relate to what I say. In groups like psychology or feminism I write these compreshensive theoretical overviews of how various things fit into the grand scheme of the universe, and I guess most people really don't think in any way resembling that. It makes me something of a thread killer, in that people are either at a loss or disinterested in what I wrote.

People tend to be right or left-hemisphere dominant, and I am not clearly one or the other, i'm both an artist and an engineer.

A technique I'm developing to keep myself going in frustrating situations, like backing up a tractor trailer, is to understand that the human mistake is in making statements about things based on limited evidence and emotion. I tend to refer to the straight-back as the "drift left" or "zig-zag back". But that's just my dysfunctional self-esteem trying to assert itself. I will eventually get these things and to say anything else is a mistake.

I have great heap crusty dishes from a week of just having time to eat and sleep, when I'm home. They're calling for attention.

Actually one positive thing is that one of my coworkers got pissed off and left, so they gave me his job, a buck and a quarter more an hour. Thank you, Ramon. $ 1.25 an hour multiplied by 160 hours a month is a monthly car payment. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Enough for the moment. Love and kisses to all.

I disagree. I use far too many emoticons to be intelligent and articulate.
