Well hello boys and girls
Feeling really lazy today. I did however go out a bit, wnet to the bank to see if you could get a home equity loan against a trailer. No. So I applied for your basic car loan. Also did a couple of online credit apps for those places that sell cars to people with crap credit. One instantly preapproved me for up to 12,000 dollars in financing. Don't know how the hell they think I could afford that much, at least prior to getting into the Big Rig Biz.
It's quite physically taxing to ride a bike in cold weather, and i'm running out of time that I can do it regularly. I rode past a motorcycle accident today. A gold wing with a sidecar. Don't know how the hell it got into the position it was in, but it was still standing up, and they were helping one of the crash victims to stand, which is a lot more favorable result than many that are possible.
This week I actually operated some big rigs for the first time. They're actually quite easy to steer with a light feel and power steering. Hard part is using the clutch and making the thing stop. On a big rig you use your brakes to assist the engine to slow the truck down, and are only using the brakes by themselves at very low speed when you're stopping at a light. I knew that I was going to find it intimidating going into it, just like it was when I started driving a stick shift car and riding my bike, but knowing that, I was and am determined to get through it. The third day I was out driving around an industrial park I started getting how it all works. I grind a lot of gears and miss a lot of shifts, but I'm getting the hang of it.
I hope I can find a good car for the time I'll need it before hitting the road in my new career. Fatigue, money, transportation, weather. My mental preoccupations of late. Some others too.
