Good morning.
It'a pretty wierd, being so close to done with truckin school. I'm just going to go down a couple of times this week to get a little road time to keep sharp for the test, which should hopefully be sunday. The weirdness is that I don't have to get up at the buttcrack of dawn. It was also a little weird when I...

That's very nicely put. I think you're right about it though.

thanks for the sweet comment
I had hoped that today I could just type CD F'N L for my blog post. Fell a little short of the mark. I passed the pre-trip inspection and got all of the maneuvers, but I ran over on time and will have to take the test again to do the road portion of the test. I don't have to redo anything that I've already...

There's a manual override on the transmission. You can control it yourself if you really want to... you just use the paddle rather than an actual stick. It looks like a shifter on a video game or a formula 1 car. Pull up to shift up, push down to shift down.
Honestly, everyone that I've talked to who was adamantly opposed to an auto-shift in a big truck had never actually used one. I think it's just about being stubborn, or old school, or penis envy or some other bogus reason.

Hello again.
I started another drawing today, thinking to make a habit of illustrating my blog entries with them, but I didn't get too far as I had a touch of that sad depressed feeling I sometimes can't shake and I had various things on my mind. But I'll finish the drawing and do others, and you can always add things to blogs.

Nah, heavier bowling balls hurt my wrist. I think I just need to drink more caucasians.
Oh no, my snake fits my mothering needs quite well. The temperature and humidity in his cage need to be carefully regulated, since he's coldblooded, and I spend some nice time fussing over that each day. He also likes to cuddle, he just cuddles by gripping my arm.

Yesterday I was about to go out when I found that my cat Max had pissed on my sketch pad. It's the second time he's done that and it pisses me off something fierce. Maybe the smell of pencil lead is similar to the smell of a rival male cat's piss, who knows. Anyway, I bought a new sketch pad and did a couple of...

Thank you!
Rainy, dreary Saturday. Cats are in a mood to be cuddly though.
Was worried this week about not having a job come monday, because Yankee candle is shutting down the partucular building I'm in and we were all in the dark about whether there would be anything for us after that, but finally they sent some people around on friday to send us round to...

hm. Not too many people have taken not of my last blog entry. Maybe I should not have mentioned the disillusionment with women.
Anyhoo, today I finally managed to hand off my applications to the placement department at NETTTS so hopefully some company will prehire me.

I'd personally suggest doing a little bit of over-the-road time before doing more local or regional work such as car transport. But that is only my opinion, plenty of drivers have only ever stayed within a couple hundred miles of their depot. Incidentally I am fairly certain that Swift is one of the bigger car carriers in the New England area. Their OTR drivers don't have a very good reputation among peers (possibly the worst in fact) but I think car carrier division is something entirely different. As far as I know they work out of central Mass. in fact... despite the closest major Swift depot being in Syracuse.
But I digress... are you pretty much done with the CDL school at this point? What's left? Do they spend time with you practicing... specifically... your state's CDL exam? What about providing the truck for the test? And last question... have you decided on a company or been applying or anything along those lines?

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to check it out, even though I'm mostly just interested in the character Dr. House and not so much in the actor Hugh Laurie.

I wish I could write you more, but all I can say, is thank you so much for your advice! I really appreciate you taking the time and thought to write me! It was very touching to know that you care! I knew you cared anyway, but really taking the time like that makes me feel better about what I have to do....ick.

Not to mention Chicago traffic is abysmal, and construction on the major highways is totally fucking with traffic patterns. Nonetheless, if you pass through, we'll have a drink.
Hello everyone
time for your basic saturday update I spose.
Need to head out and look around at some cars today. Was stopping at dealerships between school and work this week. Found one place that has a couple of cars I like that I could handle the down payment and finacing on. Yesterday I blew off trucking school because when I awoke the rain was...

But I can't have them in MY house. I love my cats I have had for the last 10 years too much to let them get it. I did put an ad out for the others. So far I have 2 responses but no one has actually come by to look or get the cats.
