best we stay inside the asylum where i can play the jester to your king of hearts.
eris23:
good dream--in days of yore, pre-christian europe, winter solstice brought a ceremonial party where some random villager would be named king by lottery for 12 days of festival. he would get to do whatever he wanted, eat, drink and screw however he wished; he was the embodiment of the year that was ending, and at the end of the 12 days, he would be ritually sacrificed (not killed, though there is speculation that in even more olden times he would have been) to clean the slate for the new year. this kept up long after christianity moved in, until the rational thought addiction of the renaissance crushed the majority of the peasant religions.

i am glad you are back on my list--i wondered where you had gone...

i heart outkast so much. "Bombs over Bagdhad" is the best song to listen to, over and over and over and dance to non stop. rock lobster is the best karaoke song ever though.

soon we will take bagdhad and uncover their ancient mystical treasures, allowing us to finally attain complete control! mwuahahaha!
ninji:

"one thing thats weird that makes me really happy is blacking out and doing things that i don't remember and having people tell me what i did, what i said. it's like, i'm not me, and i'm funny! well, sometimes i'm surly too. but it's still funny. i ask them, what did i say? what did i say next? what did i do then? every...

sounds like you could apply to be one of those crazy self-memory-erasing henchmen of one of Samuel Becket's books.

but seriously. how often does this happen? and for how long? does it happen under the influence? is it a technique that you can you've developed? if so, can you teach me? it'll come in handy for when I have to kill people.

i miss the sounds of crickets and tree frogs and time warped sounds of squealing train brakes bounced off mountain sides and the bells ringing from the tower of the church which has america's largest freestanding elliptical dome constructed by an italian at the turn of the century who had come up with a brilliant masonry technique that allowed him to defy gravity on a...

i love that! no one's figured out what that means, yet, i guess. i suppose it's better this way. synchronicity, deja vus, things in the realms of magic, we're forced to just examine, experience, absorb . . . . .

cheers! had wicked cantonese food, and i think we're going to watch Nausiica of the Winds, one of miyazaki's (p. mononoke director) early films. he's one of my fave directors for sure.

i am reading sartre right now, and i had an amusing thought. sartre's this uptight, solitary, unsocial little french dude, already lived through a war, now killing time in provincial france. i.e. hardly in a state of openness and peace with the world. he experiences the sudden illumination that life is no more than fluctuating probability, that change is the only constant. being the tightly-wound type, he gets "the fear," enemy of transcendental experiences. like giving lsd to republicans. therefore it becomes this Nausea, this angst, instead of the psychically liberating experience it became in the next generations.
another great sartre theory: this is probably utter bullshit, but it's funny in a stupid way. one of the symptoms of potassium deficiency is "existential dread." i think sartre wasn't eating enough bananas. plus salt, ubiquitous in cheap french food, depletes the body's potassium. you are what you eat?
