After a short break from SG, I was seriously missing it. Over the past few months I've been putting all the effort I could muster towards school and trying to finish all my classes and paintings. I am finally going to graduate this year! I only have one more painting class in he winter semester which is a Monday painting class, so easy stuff. What makes graduation even sweeter is that I have been working my ass off at my job and I will graduate a debt-free student. I also got a second job last week at a breakfast and lunch restaurant so hopefully I will be able to buy a car and move out soon! :)
So since school is almost over my anxiety is really diminishing. It's a good feeling, considering there was an article that CBC News did on how the percentage of students who have thought of or considered suicide is an astonishing 70% at my school. It's just ridiculous. I'm so glad I'm almost out of there and in one piece. Here's the link.
I actually had my first gallery showing at Theatrix Costume House in Toronto just before Halloween. I had 10 of my pieces featured and I managed to sell one of them. This is the first original piece I have ever sold. Before that I have been doing logo work for my friends bands and businesses to make some money and I got quite a few commissions and even got commissioned to paint a large mural for a bar! It took me a good two months because I had to do all the painting on top of a ladder, which was a first for me.
Above are a couple of the logos I've done for bands and below is the mural for the bar. :)
I keep trying to sketch out tattoo ideas but nothing really sticks. I've had to redraw certain ideas more than 5 times and they still don't sit well with me. I'm almost wondering if I'll ever actually get a tattoo..
So I come back to SG, and.. Where the *bleeping bleep* has chat gone?! Makes me sad. Hopefully some of my chat buds are still around and they bring back chat soon!
Glad to be back and hopefully I'll meet more wonderful people over the next while.
