It's a guy who for religious reasons is trying to stop being gay, even though he has been intimate with men, knows he's gay, and is having a hard time not wanting to be with dudes...

It's really fucked up how deep society drills itself into peoples' heads, I think that's why books about Buddhism and Taoism are fun to me, they usually say "shut the fuck up and just go with it already", move on. You are gay, be gay and happy about it (... notice that?)
