CURRENT LISTENING: sleeping states- there the open spaces.
have you ever had a job, and had a crush on one of your customers?
for the first time in a year during my tenure at the grocery store down the street from my house, i think i have a crush on one of my customers (which, since you don't know me very well, is FOREVER for my girl-crazy ass). the last time she came in was a few weeks ago, and i stopped and talked to her for a minute.
"oh, hi. how's it going?"
"i'm good, how are you?"
"i'm pretty well, thanks. i haven't seen you in a while."
"oh, yeah. just been busy and stuff."
"yeah, i was sad for a while."
"oh, really? well, i promise to stop in more often."
"please do. it's always nice to see you."
and then, i didn't see her for another pretty long while. until last night. she was shopping with her mom (as she often does), and they were standing in a pretty long line with my co-worker manning the checkstand. i saw them, offered to ring up their groceries, and her eyes sort of lit up. now, girls don't particularly do that sort of thing with me, so it kinda made me blush a little. some idle chit-chat and $200 worth of groceries later, we're done, and she waves goodbye.
usually, when this sort of thing happens, i have to work the nerve to ask a girl out. i probably should start with her name.
