So, i've had David Bowie's Space Oddity stuck in my head for about a week now (which i really don't mind it's one of my favorite songs) and i'm starting to notice it everywhere. Last night as i was lying down a car commercial actually used it (it was kind of surreal sounding and had female vocals, but still, same song). I woke up this morning and i guess my parents went out for breakfast, so they usually turn on the downstairs stereo (to convince outside people we're still home, so it's loud. and right below my bedroom of course) and guess which song was on? mmmmmm strange.
Yesterday gonzo77, cherie and i took a little day trip into the city. We checked out the Brooklyn Brewery, which was pretty neat(skip the "tour" its just a 20 min story). Try the Oktoberfest! Then we explored the surrounding area for a bit, which, i must say was a place i could see me living. Initially it looks kind of slummy but there's art everywhere and nifty stores with all sorts of random ridiculous things that if we weren't treking all over the city i would've gotten. An emergency bathroom break lead us to this awesome little french restaurant where i had the best crepes ever! (chicken, mushrooms and guyere cheese!) And the prices where not only outstanding but we were full for the rest of the day. Then we moseyed over to the village to check out The Village Petstore and Charcoal Grill which was pretty interesting too. If you have the chance to check it out during the week when the line may not be so long, it's a cool place to stop and look at, albeit a little small. It's right next to Jekyll & Hyde's. Some time down by the water front watching the sunsent (which was my first, how strange) and then heading back. I went home that night because i've got some family stuff today along with some other things that need to be, looked at. All in all a rather good time for all.
Still a bit iffy on the whole job thing, may do some more searching when i get in this afternoon.
Everyone enjoy the rest of their weekend! It's lovely out!
