I had a couple of close drowning scares when I was younger. I was never a strong swimmer. So I learned very quickly how to float like a motherfucker.
The HOB in San Diego is an OK venue. Parking is a fucking bitch, though. Try and get there early so you can get a good parking lot or parking spot. The one we were at was a 1/2 mile away and closed at midnight. Imagine three people totally blasted on pills and booze hauling ass through San Diego at 11:52 pm trying to remember where they put the car. Yah.
