Ahh thanksfully the amoxicillin is doing what it is supposed to, and my sinus infection seems to be in remission. Looks like I'm probably still gonna be in bed another weekend though.
I got my iPod today! It kicks far more ass than I originally imagined. All of the music I have on my computer only fills up a fraction of its 20bg storage, I need to further pollute my computer with audio files en masse.
and the monster fm transmitter works pretty well, but there are only 10 present channels on it, and there is a lot of interference in chico. the actual apple one (the itrip i think) let's you choose any station, but then you have to buy a charger seperate.
with the monster transmitter you have to kinda fudge the settings a bit and find the right station... they're all in the high 80's, with the goddamn jesus and talk channels, but it's still ok. if you don't mind a little bit of farting around, i would highly reccomend the monster. the itrip seems a bit more wonky to me.
that being said, the sound quality on both is kinda crappy (fm wavelengths). so be warned.
and no, there is nowhere in chico to buy either, but i think the as computer store at chico state will order at least the itrip for you, and you get a discount.
i had to order my monster cable on line. the apple store in emmeryville was sold out when i was there last.
Has anyone seen this documentary on the discovery science channel about the "bog bodies". They are these utterly disgusting dead 'people' (in their state I'm forced to use that term loosely) that had been preserved at the bottom of these bogs in the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. yeah i've seen similar things about the peat bog men and women - totally fascinating. i've actually seen one of them at the Silkeborg Museum in Denmark - Tollund Man. But he is far better preserved. Close up, it looks like he's just sleeping... freaky....
