so much for thinking that once I made an entry in to this journal malarkey it'd become a regular habit. ___oh well, hopefully it will now.
anyway, had a reasonably hectic week just gone seeing a three of my friends bands playing the garage in camden last monday. that was a cool 'n' loud little venue even though everyone felt the beer was rubbish. lost a bet over a friend turning up that evening grrr... but what the hey - 'twas some fine sets (although I had difficulty taking the Bomb 45s seriously due to the incredibly earnest facial expressions / gurning of a certain band member) - ah, there's nothing like starting the week with a sleep deficit already by tuesday. In fact sleep deficit was a recurring them during the week due to going out in london a few times then having to get home to Brighton on some evil hour'd train only to have to commute back up a scant few hours later.
saw the Tiger Lillies on wednesday and they were just amazing, been listening to loads of their stuff of late and it was great to catch them live (can never get enough of people singing about dropping bombs on Slough for some reason). Unfortunatly I'd drunk probably a smigeon much too truly appreciate the quiter songs on the piano, but I was nowhere near as bad as the girl in the front row who wouldn't shut up and ended up being excorted from the premises; oddly though that made for an amusing sidenote to the gig as band interaction and crowd heckling of the afformentioned drunken girl worked as if planned.
and finally, lessons learned over a week,
never forget you've left a credit card behind the bar
you can't catch up on sleep if your trying to watch a whole season of 24 over five days
never load up on caffeine 'til you start palpitating then go to a works drinks event with free alcohol as it'll only get messy
