Yesterday, a woman was struck by a moving car. I didn't see this happen, I just saw her lying there and a car with a huge dent in the hood stopped in the middle of the road. I would have missed all of this, as I was just on a passing train, had it not been for the two nurses sitting across from me, looking out the window and saying things like, "Jesus, why is she moving around like that? She really ought to just be lying still." At which point I was thinking, "Um, maybe you two should go tell her that. Maybe you could take a few minutes of your day to actually help someone. I know you won't be getting paid for it, but it seems like you've probably got the know how! Get the fuck out there!" But, no. They opted to go back to flipping through their magazines and talking on their cell phones. Yay, humanity!

Anyway, the new place is working out fairly well. Our first heating bill was quite possibly the most ridiculous one I have ever received, and it's not even hot in here at all, but oh well. It's even colder outside! I hate not being able to skate. Lousy wet and sandy pavement, lousy wind. At least I've got plenty of entertaining things to do indoors while it's nasty out. Thanks, public library! Ah love yous. I found a Lyrics Born album there a couple days ago. Holy crap was I excited. If you're in the Boston area and you don't have a card already, I strongly recommend that you get one.
