You're so lucky to live where you do.
My hometown is really close but my Dad worked at the University for years so I used to spend a lot of time there when I was little.
Now I live in Edinburgh for purely economic and professional reasons and sometimes feel like it's sucking the goodness out of me. Except for yesterday. It was so beautiful that I'm glad I was there to see it.

Where are you going for your tattoo?
What are you getting?

If you lived in GlasVegas for a long time then you're excused for choosing Edinbugger to live in post-grad.
Where in Glasgow did you live?

Mother, Summer, I

My mother, who hates thunder storms,
Holds up each summer day and shakes
It out suspiciously, lest swarms
Of grape-dark clouds are lurking there;
But when the August weather breaks
And rains begin, and brittle frost
Sharpens the bird-abandoned air,
Her worried summer look is lost,

And I her son, though summer-born
And summer-loving, none the less
Am easier when the leaves...

I'm looking for the person with the amazing chocolate recipie. Anyone who likes chocolate is my kind of person. And now you give me Philip Larkin. I'm at a loss for words.
commonman:
No, I haven't tried the recipie yet. I'm still converting it to US brands. But it is so obviously good that I gained a pound just reading it. And, no, I don't really know Larkin. I read him in school, but at that time I didn't appreciate poetry. Now I am discovering how much I really do like poetry, and here is your post reintroducing me to him. All in all, a very enjoyable occurence. So, hello! Nice to meet you!

I've been waiting for over a week for payment from a guy for a Talking Heads CD I sold on eBay - I got an email tonight saying 'I don't want the CD anymore'! Why is it for every 10 decent eBayers there's one c*ck? I've written back asking for payment in full,...

Hi biggrin

I hope you like this place so far, you WILL become addicted soon enough biggrin

I made that mistake with the journals when I first started on here. But you'll get the hang of everything.

I read the thread you put in the PSW group and you say you live in scotland. Which part? biggrin

Doesn't everybody love Weezer?! In saying that, it doesn't matter how great they are...tickets for their UK tour in June are ridiculously expensive.

I sent an email to shop@suicidegirls.com commenting about their biased clothing sizes: have you noticed that guys buying clothes from the SG shop can be any size they want from medium to X-Large, but girls have to be one size - medium? It's crazy! It's time they offered more fair sizing.

I'm writing an essay on Wittgenstein's notion of 'language games' at the moment.

My Mastercard arrived this morning! Suicide Girls-a-rama smile
It's already becoming a little too addictive - actually considered leaving my Life & Death lecture to come online and browse...

I've added a pic to my Pictures - my little Pathfinder. More to come. Is anyone actually reading this? Come on David and Nathalie!

Hey. If you haven't tried them already, I recommend (when they get them back in stock) Tings from the Vegan Store. They're like cheesy nik naks. Also, the Veggie Ribs are really nice...if a bit of a pain in the arse to make.
