I believe Political and Social Revolution is the only process to bring about a complete change when it is necessary to overhaul and restore a country's political course. I believe in a Revolution that can lead to a true citizens participatory democracy. It is the only process that can permit people to become their own history makers and designers of there own destiny. Revolutionaries, unlike radicals and rebels, they possess a firm knowledge of what they are against, a clear vision of what can replace the present and well defined goals that can bring about social justice and restore human dignity.

Although the Cuban Revolution has not been able to fully reach all its goals I have been a student of the Cuban Revolutionary process and supporter of its loving people and its global commitment to improve the quality of life for all. Due to the 45 year terrorist war and cold war the exiled Wealthy Cuban community of South Florida has waged on the island nation through the financial support of the American taxpayer; you and I as American citizens, our businesses and academic institutions are prohibited to travel, trade and learn from this Revolutionary Experiment. Today July 26, I celebrate the Cuban Day of Independence and Commencement of their Revolution and honor those who gave their lives in this process. Un Abrazo.... smile

The 26th of July Movement (Spanish: Movimiento 26 de Julio; M-26-7) was the revolutionary organization led by Fidel Castro that in 1959 overthrew the Fulgencio Batista regime in Cuba. Its name originated from the failed attack on the Moncada Barracks, an army facility in the city of Santiago de Cuba, on July 26, 1953. The movement was reorganized in Mexico in 1955 by a group of 82 exiled revolutionaries (including Fidel and his brother Ral Castro, as well as the Argentinean Che Guevara). Their task was to form a disciplined guerrilla force to overthrow Batista. On December 2, 1956, 82 men landed in Cuba, having sailed in a boat named Granma from Tuxpan, Veracruz, ready to organize and lead a revolution. Of the 82 who sailed aboard the Granma, only 12 eventually regrouped in the Sierra Maestra mountain range. There they encountered the Cuban Army. Guevara was shot in the neck and chest during the fighting, but was not severely injured. This was the opening phase of the war of the Cuban Revolution, which continued for the next two years. It ended in January 1959, after Batista fled Cuba on New Year's Eve. The movement's forces marched into Havana. After the revolution's success, the 26th of July Movement was joined with other bodies to form the United Party of the Cuban Socialist Revolution, which in turn became the Communist Party of Cuba in 1965. The flag of the 26th of July Movement is on the shoulder of the Cuban military uniform and is a historical symbol for revolutionaries across the world.
