Is there anyone that makes REALLY good, high quality, custom corsets that are reasonable in price and flexible is design? Or, does anyone know of anyone that does? I am looking for someone to make me a customized corset for my wedding.
It is not at all a traditional wedding. I am looking for something to suit my theme of a "Gothic Gypsy" hybrid of the old traditional gypsy, blended with the 1960's-1980's Gothic revolution. Sort of like mixing Morticia Addams with the gypsies from Sherlock Holms' Game of Shadows.
One to satisfy my long-standing interests in the Gothic subculture, and to satisfy my heritage of being a decendant of Greko-Romanian gypsy vagabonds.
Not exactly the typical Victorian resurrection going around with the Steampunk movement, or Victorian Gothic. Something with a touch of that traditional mysticism and morbid facination.
Dark hues, and earthly spirits. The silver tongue, and the slight-of-hand that plucks silver from pockets. A fragile female, with a temper, and a daunting flash of steel from a well hidden dagger, dripping with passions of one who is spirited. Tricksters and performers. Bards of great song and dance while in the solice of their camps, but warriors of great feats when their kin is ever threatened. The oracle casting bone, rune, and tarot to dazzle one's mind with the thoughts of magic, while simply charming them with wit, intuition, and psychology. The rogue who spys in shadows, gathers information from sources otherwise unnoticed, who exacts revenge by way of springs to trap and snare those that did cross them. Those that claim no home but the earth, and where ever their soul is fated to. This is the gypsy in my blood, envelopes my mind, and fills the chambers of my heart. My dress needs to in some way exhibit some of these aspects in some way.
Shadows of haunting memories and angst. The spirits of a morbid rebellion. Possessing strong emotions to subdue the anxieties of being outcasts. The black sheep of society. Facination with the dead, things dying, or perhaps those that should be dead...yet live (in spirit or imagination). Shrouded in funeral colours, forever playing a dirge that echoes in their ears, and somber projections of their personalities and interests. Highly intellectual, and involved in various arts. Hopeless romantics. Those that say black IS a colour. And quite possibly possess "The Handbook for the Recently Deceased", for they are strange and unusual. Sybolic animals: The raven, the vulture, the rat, the bat, the wolf, the cat...and other critter...some cute....some creepy. Free spirits held in the bondage of life. This is a very brief idealization of a fraction of that it is to be "Gothic" to me. My dress needs to display these aspects as well...and others.
