In Russia, on the packs of cigarettes painted so disgusting pictures. I'm curious, was someone really deadly sick because of this habit? can someone from your friends suffered?

Yes, smoking is harmful for your health. The main reason is all the chemicals that go into most brands. Nicotine itself isn't that bad. Not great but not the main reason for disease.

I smoked for 40 years, several packs/day near the end. Quit in 2004. Doctors tell me the best choice I made, but now I have symptoms. Thoracic aneurism, eroding heart muscle, chronic high blood pressure.
