So, I took Susie to Madison on Friday...

We walked around State Street for bit, walking to the Memorial Union, on the UW campus, and then all the way down State Street and to the other side of the capitol building to the Majestic on King Street. We were talking about all sorts of things, joking around, and just having fun. The Majestic sucked royally, so we sat down to rest and then left. We went for burgers at The Burger Joint on State Street, after finding out that we couldn't get ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery because they were closed. I can tell you this much: I don't think I'll be able to eat a burger from anywhere else again.

After eating, we walked back to the Memorial Union and decided to find a seculded dock to sit on, and we talked some more. In fact, all we really do when we are together is walk and talk. We wound up talking about one of my friends, who is actually my rival for Susie's heart... Don't worry, I wasn't being catty or anything like that. She mentioned him to a friend when she was on the phone, and then wanted to tell me more about it. Apparently, he told her that he thinks she is beautiful every five minutes last Thursday. He wrote something in Spanish on her arm that night that, when translated, is pretty much a declaration of infatuation at the least. Susie said that he isn't her type, and that he was coming on way too strong anyway. She said that she doesn't like to hear compliments that often (but she doesn't seem to mind it with me. That's usually because I veil my compliments with humour and I usually make them relevant to the conversation. They are far from random compliments). The funny thing is that two weeks ago, when Susie and I started to get closer, this guy thought we were dating and asked me whether or not she was my girlfriend... I replied truthfully, of course.

Susie also said that she isn't ready for a relationship like that (which I knew already). Due to our conversation about my friend, I decided to abort my Open Mic night plans. We then started talking about other things, like sex (I learned a lot about her, and she learned a lot about me...). We then decided that it was cold, so we walked to the capitol square and then walked to my car, making fun of the drunk people walking down State Street.

I decided to take US Route 51 instead of I-90 to get home, and, on the considerably longer drive back, we talked about even more things. Susie remarked that I got more attention than she did (she was amazed, but not irritated or anything. She hates a lot of the attention she getts from guys because most of them are so disrespectful), to which I replied, "That's only because I was wearing a shirt that said, 'Draft Beer, Not Soldiers' in a liberal college town. If we were in Chicago, or if I was wearing a different shirt, you would have been recieving all the attention."

We eventually got back to my town, and I was about to make a left turn to go to her house and drop her off there when a cop with his flashers on (but no siren) raced through the intersection and almost T-boned me. I about had a heart attack, and we decided to park the car in a residential neighbourhood a half a mile east and walk to a nearby playground. I found out that she had an interest in astronomy, and I also found out what her underwear preferences are... She told me not to tell anyone, and I told her that I wouldn't even tell anyone if she told me that she had killed someone (and, seeing as I am an ordained minister, I don't have to). She said that she knows I am trustworthy just by my demeanor and by how I treat her. She said that I am very respectful to her and that I make her feel very comfortable, and that she's told me things that she hasn't told anyone else. I told her that I feel the same way about her, and that I've told her several things I haven't really told anyone else.I then remarked that it's kind of weird that we're that close and we've only really been friends for a week. Then we went to IHOP and, after we were done there, I took her home. By the time I got home, it was 5:30 in the morning.

She said that she had a lot of fun, and that she enjoys being with me
and talking to me, and going for walks with me, et cetera. So far I'm
not getting any mixed signals from her. She told me that she doesn't
want to get involved in a romantic relationship with someone without
first getting to know them, so I think that she is getting to know me.

My mom knows how much time I spend with Susie, and she said that it seems like she's my girlfriend. I replied that she is not, and that we aren't dating (only "seeing each other"). She said that it sure sounds like dating, especially since it's just us. I replied by saying that Susie isn't ready for a relationship because she's been burned by relationships in the past and is burned out on dating. She wants to know someone before getting into a relationship with them...
