Reading between the lines it sounds like a pretty harsh Christmas. Between the dog and the boy, well that's a lot to deal with.
Your attitude seems incredible though! I love the way your looking forward to the new year and the opportunities it's presents.
Maybe it's a good thing that the boy is out of the picture. Sometimes those relationships are nothing but excess baggage that really distorts our view of ourselves and the world.

You know i went through the not following through thing for a while there. It was because of a girl, not because i'm a flake, but when i pulled out of it, it sucked since my friends had moved on and i didn't have anybody to reach out to. It was my own fault, and i've definitely learned from that. I hope you can maintain those friendships before it's too late....
