On a sour start to this..my dog has been found, picked up on the 26th by nyp taken to Manhattan to some shelter and been put to sleep, reason that she had internal bleeding. Found out today, but what is sickening is that my sisters did go the same day she got lost, when it was late at night and they told her no, we dont have your dog. 
City is too cheap that they dont want to spend money on housing them so they rather destroy. Knowing that put a huge huge damper on any festivities, and it has since what happened on the other side of the world. So I dont think anyone should be really celebrating this time. Think a few countries will call off the fireworks, which is appropriate.
Guess Ill be happy to know Im home with the people I love and that love me back unconditionally, even if Im a pain to live with, they have no choice but to and yeah its safer and my bed is a few steps away. People out there have it worse, so I should be grateful for what I have/had.
