I've always been a people watcher, totally fascinated by the actions of others, but every now and then I get a shake up call. What is it that makes seemingly intelligetnt people you've grown up with, known for years just fucking nosedive to the ground? This is not one of those, " I told you that bitch was crazy" but more like whoa, wtf happened, when did crazy start driving around wearing so and so's skin.
Last night my husband got a call from his family, one of his best friends in high school has been arrested for conspiracy to commit capital murder. My husband and I were speechless, for a minute or two anyway. I know everyone's innocent til proven guilty but everything we've read is looking really bad for her. She wasn't just one of my husband's best friends, he also had a huge crush on her. And when I met her, I did too
She's smart and looks like Jessica Alba with bigger boobs and more piercings, or at least she did. It's been about 3 years since the last time we saw her. When we saw her 3 years ago, things weren't perfect but it seemed like she knew what she was doing. We hated the guy she was with because he seemed to be a raging alcoholic and brain dead. But she was going to college and well on her way to becoming a nurse.
So, what the fuck happened between then and now? We might never know. We lost touch with her, after we moved back to California. We'd hear little blips about her from his family every now and then. Nothing too shocking til last night. Hopefully, she wasn't as involved as they are saying she was. The only thing I'm certain of is that myself and to a slightly lessor extent, my husband, are the only people I really "know".
