Damnit! I just opened my case for The Fall and what do you know, no dvd contained within. I have no clue where on earth it could be. It is not in my DVD player, it is not in any of my other DVD cases. That was an expensive DVD too. I don't buy myself DVDs very often, and I don't own that many. Most of the ones I own were gifts, so if I actually buy one for myself it's definitely something special. If it were almost anything else I would just say whatever and download it, except for part of what makes this DVD so special is all the special features. Thus I am going to have to fork over the money to buy it again, and because it was such a limited release it's pretty doubtful that I am going to be able to find it anywhere for cheap.
Picture post!
I had a random urge to make myself pretty today. Sometimes I get those. Even though I have a pretty extensive amount of makeup, I pretty much never wear it. Partially because I am just too lazy to, mostly because I just don't care. But every now and then I just get this I want to feel pretty! mood, and for no other reason than that I bust out my kit and snazz myself up.
So I did my makeup and my hair, and then had nowhere to go. I called and texted a couple of people to try to get them to go out and get a drink with me, thinking it was a shame for me to look so cute and have nobody but me and my cat appreciate it. But alas, no one answered the phone or texted me back.
Thus I decided that my cuteness needed not to be wasted, so I busted out my camera and tripod, and hammed it up. Yay!
Thus I share a bunch of me made up, my hair done, being cute pictures. I'm probably also going to add some random pictures, just for amusements sake.

I posted these pictures in the Stitch and Bitch group awhile ago, but realized I neglected to post them here.
I drafted the pattern for these socks all by myself! I wanted to knit myself a pair of lacy knee socks, and after going through all of the pattern resources available to me, multiple sock pattern books, and huge archives of free sock patterns online, I just couldn't find a pattern that satisfied me. The only pattern I liked was one I had already knit for myself. So, even though the only things I had ever knit without patterns before have been hats and scarves, I decided I'd go for it. I found the lace pattern I wanted in a stitchionary, knit multiple guage swatches on multiple needle sizes until I found the guage I wanted. I adjusted the pattern for knitting it in the round. I chose a cuff. I figured out how to reduce stitches within the pattern (twice!) so that the sock would be fitted to my leg and not be loose and saggy around the lower calf, ankle, and foot. I chose what type of heel, gusset, and toe I wanted to use. And it came out amazing! I am exceedingly proud of myself. When I was initially knitting it I thought it was going to be a horrible utter failure an come out a complete mess. Now I am thinking about publishing the pattern and selling it for a little bit.

I totally didn't mean to add this picture, but as long as it is here, I'll leave it. This is my television. This picture was taken with my new telephone. I have no idea what the quality will be!

When I was visiting my parents in, umm, earlier this year, I scanned in a bunch of old pictures. I figure it is about time to post some of them here! This is me and Barry Privett, lead singer of Carbon Leaf. Probably few to none of you will know who they are. This was probably taken in 2002?

Me at senior prom! I did not actually go to a real school my senior year of high school, but I went to prom with a bunch of friends. I made myself a pair of wings to match my dress. I totally ended up in that school's yearbook in the prom section.

I got the roll of film this picture was in developed a couple of years after the picture was taken. I got to the picture and went "uhh, who the fuck is this guy? He's pretty cute, but I have no idea who he is." I couldn't tell if I looked so happy because I was having a good time, or if I was having my picture taken with a cute guy. I arbitrarily decided that he must be someone famous because real people aren't that good looking, and started displaying the picture prominently in the hopes that someone would eventually stop and go "ohmigosh!! That's blablabla". It didn't happen. Finally I posted the picture on facebook with a plea to my friends to identify the mystery dude. Tada! Got a response immediately. Apparently he is Alex something or another, the lead singer of Phantom Planet. Who I totally have no memory of meeting, but I must have.

My and my best friend Vivi, either the summer before 7th or 8th grade. 12 or 13 years ago. We bought matching American flag bikinis. We thought that was really cool. She lives in San Diego, I am very excited to live reasonably close to her again.

I had a huge crush on this guy in 10th grade, but I was firmly in the friend zone. Now he thinks I'm gorgeous, which is utterly useless to me. My hair is blond because I bleached it and dyed it purple, and the purple faded out within like.. a week or two, leaving that coppery blond. My mom helped me with the dye job, we used manic panic and just followed the directions on the jar. Thus leaving the dye in for only 15 minutes. Not good. A. Don't use manic panic. B. Don't leave semi-permanent, unnatural hair dyes in for only 15 minutes. At that time I didn't know anyone who had dyed their hair funky colours before, so I didn't have anyone to go to for advice. When I did this I was the only person in my 1400 person school to have an unnatural hair colour. Tells you something about where I lived at the time.

Me at the science fair. I'm not sure what grade this was. Third? I won first place, grand champion, which meant that I got to go to the county fair. My science experiment involved baking a bunch of cakes where I left out a different ingredient in each cake to see how this would affect the outcome, taste, texture, etc. No baking soda in one, no salt in the other, etc. Apparently this experiment qualified as "biochemistry".

Family portrait of me and my little bro Dooge. So cute!

I'm pretty sure this picture of me was taken in 1989. I look kind of saucy.
I'm done now.
Wasn't this entry awesome??
