Last time my car was in the shop the mechanic told me that I absolutely 100% had to put high test gas in my car. He said that volvos in general are made to use 91 at minimum, and that since it is an old volvo that it is EXTRA important that I use the high grade gas. Apparently a lot of the problems with my car have been caused by both me and the previous owner using low grade gas in the car, and me taking the car too close to empty too often. The low grade gas caused sludge build-up, and the driving close to empty caused the car to pull the sludge through the fuel system and get the fuel filter and fuel injectors all clogged up. Which is why my car was stuttering and stalling.
So now I have to put 93 in my car.
Yesterday the price for 93 at the gas station closest to me was 3.15. Today it is 3.49. Fuck. Shit. Damn. Hell.
I have a 19.8 gallon gas tank. This means were I to ever get a complete fill up it would cost 69.10. And gas prices are only supposed to keep rising.
So therefor I'm always going to fill up when I'm at 2/3rds of a tank, 1/2 at the least. That will still end up being a crap ton load of money, 20 - 35 bucks, but that is much better than fucking 70 dollars to fill my gas tank.
And I am dreading even thinking about what it is going to end up being as these gas prices continue to rise.
