Rant time:
So - apparently since I have let something like 6 or 7 friends, all of whom I know IN PERSON, know through their journals that I have put up a set, and told them to check it out I am a spammer. That's fucking ridiculous. I put this set up on a whim and hold no delusions that it is actually going to get put up. I'll probably post a link to the set every time I update my journal for a little while, but I don't plan on doing anything else, at all, to get people to go to my set. I just don't care that much. I don't understand how telling a few people who probably wouldn't get to my journal for awhile makes me a spammer. And it was totally unnecessary for someone to be a jerk and tag my set that way.

I think that perhaps someone who doesn't actually know me saw one (or two) of my comments, where I was really silly, and because they don't know me, did not realize that I was joking. That I wasn't being serious. And then took me as a typical overzealous hopeful.

Goddess, I know why this set was rejected and I know that it was for reasons beyond the lighting and the colour. But I do like a bunch of the pictures and when I couldn't sleep last night I photoshopped all of the pictures then on a whim decided to put them up. I figure if I can get 500 bucks out of it, cool. I don't actually care how many comments the set gets, though obviously it would be nice if people liked it.

But unlike what I have heard of "spammers" to be, I am certainly not going around posting to every single person in my friends list, every person in every group I know, friendsing people I don't know so they'll look at my set, commenting repeatedly on my own set, and posting threads about my set in every group I'm in. I posted a thread in the hopefuls group, but I posted a critique thread, asking for peoples opinions on the new set versus old version, and just general opinions for those who hadn't seen it before. I thought it would be a good Idea since I hope to shoot a new set soon and I could use the advice from that thread when shooting my next set.

I don't think anything I've done anywhere near counts as spamming. I feel like it is completely natural to let friends know when you have posted a set, and ask them to give you support and lovins. To me, that does not a spammer make. The way that this has been blown out of proportion amazes me. I am not just talking about with me, but in general. I've seen people get really really mean to "spammers", some of whom have been very mild (though all of whom have done at least 20x more than me.) Is it just because of the antagonism people feel toward SCS?

So here is the link to my set - and this is the only place you will be seeing me link it. Which was (OMG!) the plan from the beginning.

Sorry for the rant, I just really don't want to be seen as a spammer. The fact that someone called me that really bugs me. It's just so hard to know what the ground rules for letting people know about your set are. Is anyone who does anything more than post a link to their set in their journal a "spammer"? Because that just seems absurd to me.

The end of rant.

Anyway- go look at it. Comment on it a lot.* Say you love it lots and lots.*

*In case it wasn't made clear from my earlier rant, while I would think it was nice if you gave me lots of love on my set, my use of such wording is somewhat facetious seeing as though while I would like lots of comments, I don't really expect them, or care if anyone comments on my set. I was just being cutesy. Just thought I would clarify in case anyone thought I was contradicting myself, etc. (snark. etc.)

Please let me know when you have another set go up. I also agree with you about glasses becoming part of your personality. I wore contacts for a while and did not recognize myself in the mirror and I missed playing with them.
