My Jones soda yesterday told me that I would have good money luck next month.
It better fucking god damn better well not be lying to me.
My car has broken down twice this week. I managed, through sheer will and determination, to drive it in to school on Tuesday so I could get my creative writing profile in by the deadline. It is worth 50% of my grade. The car stalled a good 10-15 times on the way there. So I called AAA and had it towed to a repair shop. It was finally finished on Friday - making it so that I couldn't get to my oceanography exam Thursday night. Luckily my teacher was nice and let me take it on Friday.
Friday morning I woke up early and WALKED to the mechanic to pick up the car. 300 dollars. I went and took my exam. Then Shawn and I drove to Laurel so he could FINALLY get himself a car. I am very VERY excited about not having to wake up at 7:30 every morning to drive him to work anymore. Well, when we got in my car to drive to an ATM to get his down-payment... it stalled again. Three times. Fuck. So I leave him there and get in my car, deciding to attempt to get home and back to the Midas to see if they didn't install the hose properly, in which case they would repair it again for free. I get half way home, and my car stalls while I am going 70 miles per hour on 695, in the left lane. I pull over and try to restart. Nope. Try again. Nope. So I call AAA. A tow is free for the first 3 miles, then 3.50 a mile after that. It would have been 75 bucks to tow my car back to Westminster. So I sat in my car, freezing my ass off.. for more than an hour waiting for the tow truck. Even though I was supposedly a "priority case." Shawn and the tow show up at my car at the same time and it is towed to a random sunoco in Baltimore. Which is of course closed. They don't call me about the car until 12:40 today, and I am not near my phone. When I check my messages at 3:00, the message says "hi, this is ___ about your car. We are open until 1pm today, so if you could call us back before then. Otherwise we are closed tomorrow, so call us on Monday." Great. Just fucking great. Don't call me at 12:40 and then tell me I have to call you back before 1. Come on now. I need my car. !&$?E*ORWUGFDO?&Q)$.
I have just had the worst possible luck over the last few months. Especially financially. Who knows how much more this is going to cost me. Especially because if it is a problem with how the hose was installed, it isn't going to be fixed for free now because the car had to be towed somewhere else. After last months ridiculous bills and still having most of my Christmas shopping to do.. I really REALLY can't afford this. I also really really need a car. You can't live in Westminster without a car.
Though we did walk to the movie theater to see The Golden Compass Thursday night. My official opinion of the movie is that it was entertaining, but it wasn't the book. The girl that they have playing Lyra is PERFECT. And if they were actually making a movie of the book, she would be bloody brilliant. But the movie isn't the book. It's a watered down, republicanized, children's version of the book. Sigh. But I knew that the religion had been taken out of the movie before I went to see it. I was prepared. The problem is, it makes the movie not make sense in a lot of ways. Because the books are ABOUT religion. 100% Shawn came out of the movie saying he only thought it was okay because the movie didn't really have any point, any meaning. And I had to explain everything to him. Sigh.
I need to go to sleep. I am hoping that being done with classes will make my stress insomnia go away.
I am going to Washington State to visit Shawn's family for Christmas. It will be the first time I will be away from my family for Christmas eve/Christmas day. But it should be a lot of fun. I am excited about meeting his dad and brother. And Shawn hasn't seen his brother in two years! I can't imagine going that long without seeing a member of my immediate family.
Goodnight all.

We should hang out sometime.
I agree about Golden Compass. I had to explain some of the subplots to Kevin. I still enjoyed it.
