In other non emo words..
This past weekend was wonderful. I spent the weekend at the home of minimalism, derceto, and stiles. They are a group of truely fantastic guys. It was wonderful to get out of my parents house for a weekend. That area of NJ/NY is like being in a different work compared to the DC area. Everything is so tall and close together!
And for the first time in a very very very long time I had PIZZA!! Good New York style pizza. It was so amazing. That in and of itself would have made the trip worth it.
On saturday Minimalism made food. Ohmans. Bruscetta and Eggplant Parmesan. Holy something or another that boy can cook. He didn't know this in advance, but Eggplant Parmesan is one of my alltime favourite foods.
Minimalism had to go to sleep early that night to be up for work, so I stayed up and watched "Dirty Jobs" with Derceto and Stiles. It was the most peculiar episode of that show I have ever seen. Maybe it was only that funny because of the company.. but man...
On sunday we went to a diner with the hugest most ginormous menu I have ever seen. And they had one of my favourite drinks, the Cinnamon Apple - Tini! I had my first this summer with halfjack and his sister. I hadn't been able to find a place that just had them on the menu since then.
I went in to the city with stiles to watch the Eagles/Giants game. That was quite a peculiar cultural experience. We went to a bar in NYC full of Eagles fans. Philly ex-pats I assume. I don't care about football at all, but when you are in a room with 250 very VERY excited people it is easy to start feeling it. Every time the Eagles scored the entire bar would sing their fight song. I actually ended up cheering when they won. It was so weird.
Went from NYC to philly. I got to see fauxjocie and my ex mike. We went to Tom Jones. Some joke was made about how "it isn't easy being teabagged by anyone" and now I can't get that damn song out of my head.
But as I said, all in all it was a very very good weekend. I haven't smiled that much in awhile.
And speaking of smiling, my darling Morgan gets back soon. I am highly highly excited about this.
Oh.. you know how some peoples voices are amazing enough that you just want jump on them purely because of them? stiles is like that. *pounce*
oh, and listening to Damien Rice is NOT helping with my current feelings of emo.
