Missed the metro home last night and it threw a bit of a wrench into my morning/afternoon...it's been a long day at both jobs -- so I just woke up from a several hour long "nap" and it's midnight on Saturday and I have no energy to go anywhere (except next door to watch The Wizard of Oz w/ Pink Floyd's DSotM but the DVD was fucked therefore I'm back home, awkwardly huddled in my living room corner because it's the only place I can pick up signal right now...)

In other news, I've been drinking tons of soy milk, and it's damn expensive. Note to any of you who are thinking of making the switch: it's addictive, esp. the strawberry and vanilla (becuase I find that the original simply tastes like mulched cardboard); about $4.00 for 1.89 litres is a little too rich for my blood, so I've gotta work on the rationing...I think I'm going to start making my own --- Bp323 this is where you come in!

Oh, and isn't it great when people show up at your door with a surprise homemade cake?
It certainly is... whatever

Been reading at a pretty steady pace lately and finished "Ambushed" a few days ago. It's a true story about a Canadian foreign correspondent/war reporter for the AP who was shot in the head (and still survived and managed to write a book about it) in Sierra Leone back in '99. He's essentially the epitome of what I want to be in about 10 years (he was bureau chief in West Africa by the time he was 30, which is freakin' amazing...) and and AND, yeah, great find at a used book store, completely 100% up my alley...Right now I'm almost halfway through Ender's Game. First sci-fi book I've tackled; I'm definitely more of a non-fiction gal but I'm liking it so far. I should be done this one soon and will be searching for another immediately (probaby non-fiction). David Suzuki recently published an autobiography and something tells me that might be a good read. Otherwise, any suggestions?

Well guys, I'm pretty sure this is THE most exciting blog I've ever written. Off to do some late-night laundry...

gentleman_loser:
(A) Well, it's 6:48am and I'm about to head off to work..Hehe wish I could be like you today and (presumably) sleep in, especially since I've had some pretty irritating insomnia the last 3 nights.

(B) I know where to get good soymilk for 99cents/litre..But you have to venture outside of Verdun with me to get it ;-)

(C) We can make some...I probably spend about 30 or 40 cents a litre to do that...a bit more for the flavourings...my best results so far are with vanilla and honey,.

I should be free tuesday and wednesday if you have any time in there somewhere..gimme a shout.

P.s. beer on tap..maybe another week and it'll be ready I think!
