GWAR!!!!!!!!
Ahhhh GWAR was awesome...Before the concert was more of...getting harrassed by a drunken toothless man and sharing a 40 of black label with some guy in a corner. Yep, that's me, classy...
The Red Chord opened for GWAR!! I was excited because I discovered these guys like 4 years ago and hadn't really heard much of them since and I liked their music. I was pretty impressed at first: lead singer was...amazing...= Phil Anselmo meets Ted Lee. But after he told some guy to shut up, had his two litlte sidekicks doing stage choreography with their guitars and kept doing encores and re-encores at nobody's request, we left to go outside where it was seemingly more interesting...
We stood in the crowd forever (they took a long time to set up) and when they finally came on everyone rushed to the front-like-crazy-fast and well, I finally had to get out to take a breather and make sure I still had most of my hair left...But by the time the show was done there were a sea of people (including myself) covered head to toe with coloured water after being sprayed with fake blood and such...My entire face, hands and arms were dyed purple by the end, and I looked like a zombie...
Within the first few minutes, my leather cuff was gone. I was a little upset but not surprised. I figured I'd take a look for it after the show, and when people finally did clear out there were just puddles of black water everywhere, glass, beer bottles, etc...So I looked and looked and looked, waded my feet through the puddles, and the jerks operating the lights turned them down even lower which made it difficult for people who lost stuff to see (and to leave faster). Nothing. We were about to leave but I wouldn't give up -- man, it was my Shambhala cuff! -- and I told myself I wasn't leaving until I found it. So I ventured further back, away from where I was when I lost it and bam, there it was, laying nice and flat in a puddle of grimey brackish water -- I couldnt have been happier! And it was pretty much in tact too, just a litlte stepped on and dirty but nothing torn.

Oh..OH!! And i got my geog. exam back. I didn't feel all that great about it, I think he was asking too much in far too little time. So we got them all back and a large portion of the class didn't do very well, and so he curved our grades. So the class average must not have been all that great because I came out with a 68 and when he upped all of our marks and so I came out with a 100%. ..how the hell you bump a 68 to a perfect score I have no idea, but I definitely didn't complain, only checked, checked again...checked AGAIN, and finally approached him asking if 100 really meant a per centage. Huh, apparently so...And for some reason he wrote "Well Done Julia" on it too, as if I earned it (?!)
This was a freebee though, we did bad and we got lucky...but still...grahahhaa...

In other news, I cooked up a storm yesterday afternoon. It was just one of those days, I had the place to myself and felt like cooking. So I made this potato/chick pea/ rice/black bean stew kind of concoction and it turned out really good! and very healthy too (execept for the starch..and more starch!!). After that I busted out the flour and rolling pin and made a delicous Cranberry/Apple/Cinnamon/Raisin pie. Not bad for my first one!
