Yesterday, out of the blue, I completely dislocated my right knee. I was just putting clothes away when bam, it happened.
I have no insurance. None. Zilch. Nada.
I popped it back in place myself. Almost passed out from the pain.
JP managed to finagle his way into a free knee brace from the ER, and today he finagled his way into crutches. Last night, I had to walk on it with no brace, wrap, or anything. Today, at work, I at least had the brace, but I just got the crutches a few minutes ago.
My knee is very VERY swelled, particularly on the outside top side. It's got me a little worried, because it's very grotesquely mishappenly swollen.
PLEASE please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I had knee surgery on this same knee 10 years ago. I have no insurance. If the swelling doesn't go down by Friday I will have no choice but to go to a specialist. We just did all this moving stuff and I am flat broke. I don't know what I'm going to do to afford it if I do have to go.
What a sucky way to start my life in our new house. On the positive though, JP has been an absolute lifesaver with the caring for me. He was so scared yesterday. He came home from work early last night and got all that stuff from the ER... He had to help me go to the bathroom yesterday. Embarrasing? Yea. But total proof that he's in love with me.
I can't say I'll be online but few and far between this week. I'm supposed to keep this knee elevated and iced, and the 8 hours a day I'm at work walking, non-iced and non-elevated does NOT help.
