Work's been interesting since I started the new gig.
In brief, my title is Assistant Category Manager of Fiction, and that entails allocating the goods picked up by the buyers and, though I haven't touched on this yet, digging up all kinds of intriguing data that'll allow me to realize my wish of Canada having the world's hippest chain of corporate bookstores. Basically, I'm in Procurement, and that means adding and taking away titles. Between the guy who performs replenishment on existing titles (he's totally ace) and myself we're going to bring some crippling indecision to browsers of roughly 250 bookstores, big and small from coast to coast. The tools (for the most part) are there and in us lies the talent. Prepare thyselves, o readers.
