There's three girls I like right now. REALLY like. Two of them are impossible and the other one doesn't seem to notice, but fuck... I like her. I like that I underestimated her. I like that she's honest. I like that she's horribly cute.
I tried being subtle for a while and being the friend, but hell... I'm sick of that. That's the sort of thing that just drives a person to misery. I finally told her "hey, lets go do stuff because I like you" so I'll see how that turns out.
I've got this best scenario in my head where we're everything we've ever wanted, fuck ups and all. She moves to Vancouver with me, I teach her how to drive stick, she points out when I'm being full of shit... you know, good stuff.
The worst that'll happen is she doesn't talk to me anymore. It's selfish, but I don't think I could take being just her friend so the brush off wouldn't be so bad. Rejection sucks no matter what, so I may as well go for the full-on "get away from me you weirdo" rejection.

you ever heard of the ladder theory? I have to admit i hate the damn thing, but it seems to be true to some extent. in case you haven't heard of said theory.... let me explain.
it's like this. Straight guys have a hypothetical ladder in their head on which they place every woman they know. At the top of the ladder are women they would love to sleep with even though there's no chance in hell, like actresses and supermodels. Then, below, there are all the other girls you know (yes, even girl "friends") rated by how much you want to sleep with them. Have I got you so far?
Here's the important part. Straight girls have TWO ladders. One for the guys they want to sleep with, and another for their "guy friends". It is a very risky move to try to jump from one ladder to the other, as you risk falling in to the hypothetical "abyss".
SO. How does this pertain to you? Try to figure out which ladder you're on... it's always possible you could be a "friend" who's on the other ladder.... stupid ladder theory.
