looks like this auction is gonna go to notanemoboy. The can of rockstar and reiki seesion are probably what sealed it. I think I'm gonna have to make "Akira" my anime selection. You two have fun.
I got at least 3 more on the waiting list... so look forward to more auctions this week.
But for now I want you all to marvel at how accurate this portion of a personality test I took is:
You examine youself honestly, too honestly for your own good, perhaps. You therefore feel you have the right to be equally objective with others. But whether you do or do not have that right, the results are unhappy for you. Your probing reveals a multitude of subtle sins and faults invisible to less searching or more charitable eyes. And because you are determined to apply your own rigid standards to the world, you end up rejecting everyone, even those whom you love the most. You are like a small boy who tears apart his favorite toy to see what makes it run. No wonder you are so lonely!
Nevertheless, in spite of or perhaps because of your unbending attitude, you are frightened and insecure. Though your unflinching self-scrutiny is an admirable trait, it becomes destructive when carried to an extreme, as you are constantly in danger of doing. Already it is causing you to look at life negatively, to stress outward form and mere details at the expense of reality, to cling to the letterthat killeth, while ignoring the spirit that giveth life.
This is indeed a pity since the person whom you are hurting the most is yourself. For you are naturally warm, friendly, and sympathetic, and you like people. But your determination to be objective at all costs and to pursue the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth paralyzes your capacity for friendship. you become so obsessed with ferreting out the flaws and frailties of mankind you overlook its virtues. You will gaze at a beautiful woman, for example, but her loveliness eludes you, for you are too occupied with studying the wart on her cheek.
Hence your vaunted honesty - which really isn't honesty at all since it always misses the true essence of things - results in turning the world against you. No one enjoys being constantly held under a microscope, particularly if it happens to be one whose lens is distorted and cracked.
The solution to your problem lies within yourself. You have been blessed with an admirable candor and sincerity plus a keen intelligence. Add to these a healthy dose of the milk of human kindness and subtract the vinegar of objectivity and you will have a drink fit for your fellow men, if not for the gods. It's true that honesty is the best policy - but only if tempered with charity and understanding. There is a time for frankness, and there is a time for lying-or rather, let us say, discretion. Remember that only the strong can afford to be generous. By your harshness and unrelenting rectitude you only betray your own deep insecurity.
The sins of the coldhearted, as Dante said, are weighed in different scales from those of the warm-hearted.
