So yeah....

Things that suck:

*roomates who don't pay the phone bill and get it disconnected

*roomates who crash your computer and almost wipeout your whole hard drive

*being limited to the public library for net access

*having every penny you make for the next month already spent before you get it

*having random people at your place at 4AM when you've got shit to do in the morning

*when said random people are so ignorant that they have to ask you how to get downstairs while standing two feet from a staircase that they had to climb up to get upstairs in the firstplace

*having to deal with that level of ignorance when you're already cranky and really don't want to come off as an asshole

*trying to explain SG to people with preconcieved notions

*Boogie Records having to close due to various reasons (the number one reason being...)

*we are located in the most suck ass town this side of well... anywhere

Whatever.... So you can't IM me until after Feb. 2nd probably, but I will be checking my email on a regular basis and you can call the cell phone too. (It's the only number I've been giving out anyway)

On the 2nd I get possession of the new place AND I got the DSL hooked up. So I will be back...

better, stronger, faster..... you know the rest

(Looks like the grand reopening of the Masonic is gonna be on Saturday, April 3rd. Planning on a huge all day show. In the process of booking that gig as well as everything thereafter.)

I never had anything bad to say about Boogie. Even though they were supposedly the COMPETITION. I always recommended BOOGIE to people as an option. More or less a solidarity to locally run businesses. I saw them more as a peer than a rival. But I hear it wasn't reciprocal from their end. If situations were flipped I would feel the same way. Independant businesses have to stick together and stand up. Unfortunately, like you said, Toledo is a suck ass town with little loyalty and equally little "culture" clientele. All of the sheep flock to the box stores and the mom n' pop shops gotta be supermen. I wish Toledo had more of a crowd like Ann Arbor has so that the chain store bastards, Allied, and Boogie could all co-exist peacefully. I'll miss them.
