Today was a good day, I must say. I didn't have to go to work so I got a chance to take care of a few things. I stayed in bed till about 12:00 then i got up and called a bunch of pesky bill collectors to find out that I was in the clear for the most part at this point.
Then I went to the library, looking to pick up No Logo, since I didn't get to finish it before those bastards stole all my books and DVD's from my old apartment. But I digress. They didn't have it at the local branch but it was available at the main branch downtown. So I went down there for the first time since I've been living back in Toledo. It actually got remodeled a few years ago and I have to say that it is a choice facility.
Plus the library system here is much better than the bullshit excuses they had for libraries everyplace else I've lived. So I was in a pretty good mood. While I was there I figured I'd check out some CD's so I got some Sonic Youth, some Talking heads, and Thursday's first album.
Then I went apartment hunting a little bit. I found some decent shit I guess, but nothing that blew me away either pricewise or cool factorwise anyway.
I happened to pass the mall so I decided to stop and see what movies were playing. Keep in mind the last thing I saw in the theater was Punch-Drunk Love about a year ago, so it's obvious I was in a feel good mood. I still haven't gotten used to the idea of spending ten bucks just to get in a damn flick.
I saw that "Lost in Translation" was starting in about an hour, so I figured I'd run into the food court and grab a bite seeing as how I hadn't eaten all day. Plus I couldn't resist the irony of walking around with a blatently Hugo Boss sweater and hat, in a mall, browsing through Hot Topic, carrying a copy of No Logo, which I proceeded to try and pick up where I left off from.
The movie wasn't too bad. It was a good way to kill some time. Sofia Coppolla's shit is always so deliberately paced though. I was reminded of why I like Scarlett Johanssen though. She got to show of her acting chops a little more here than in Ghost World, and I think she did pretty good. But anyway, that's enough out of me for now.
