I cannot believe mainstream media saying she has gone too far to the left with this media campaign. How can any agency steeped in the middle of their own misunderstanding of where their own mainstream lines are drawn say that any one or group has stepped out of bounds. Shame on them. Let Sarah be judged by those
Thanks for the feedback - quite honestly - Sarah's stuff is so absurdly funny sometimes and over the top that I think sometimes I am so busy laughing that - I think I may miss the point. It's a complicated way of putting a message out there - but if it is serving gender equality - I think it is in such a tone that it is more effective than traditional feminist self-righteousness and preachiness or guilt tripping. This may not the best way to describe it - but I think it is using the absurd to bring into focus how what we accept to be normal and fair is actually absurd. I'm tired - so I don't know if this makes sense. But her cerebral shock humor - I think can be very effective if it goes viral. She probably needs to hone it - so that offends and shocks fewer people - and perhaps gets more people thinking. Or who knows - maybe Sarah Silverman is so brilliant that the world should adjust to her. As I don't get her many times - I think that perhaps the latter is the case! :)
