Well I hit the message boards today only to find the CE madness that was started by 'nakie.'

Its hard to believe that someone could actually believe the clutch of lies that she 'researched.'

Only after taking the time to read the entire 9 page thread, did I realize that she did NOT research these arguements like she claimed, (as I was very suspicious of, since she did not quote any sources when repeatedly asked... I mean come on) and she ended up just taking some raving conservative propaganda and putting it up on the internet as not only truth, but of her own design.

And the sad thing was, some people actually supported her??? eeek Madness, truly madness. How could anyone in their right minds believe that?

Perhaps President Bush is so effective at distorting the truth that the common people actually believe all this bullshit he is saying.

No wonder he has such a good chance of winning, if people believe this damn pack of lies that they are circulating around.

I gave more credit to the American people as a whole. Perhaps I was too optimistic.

Well, my family could always move back to our native land of Holland. I've always wanted to go there. But I doubt my parents would consider moving with me in college, and all.

Sigh.

This has been an unorganized collection thoughts brought to you by dnmolenaar

I found that thread very entertaining...the format was an obvious copy and paste job so I only expected to see an onslaught of corrections. I will always be surprised that many "conservatives" will support someone who takes the Bush side, no matter how ridiculous the idea might be. In this case it was very ridiculous but kind of funny.

Considering the way that Bush has trashed our country, I am surprised that he is doing so well in the polls. Luckily, these polls usually only indicate "likely voters," i.e. people who have voted before. I have a feeling that these massive voter registration drives are going to kick Bush in the ass. A ten-point spread on election night would be nice. wink

The Osama Bin Laden "October Surprise" rumor has been bantied about for quite some time now. I hear that it is unlikely that Bush would be able to hide such a thing from the press, but considering all of the detainees in Gitmo, I wouldn't be surprised. Let's hope that Bin Laden is caught on the day after Election Day. . .after Bush loses. . .hopefully in short order. . .so we won't have the Supreme Court "select" him again.

Our forces are spread pretty thin. I doubt that he could start another war without resolving the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. There were efforts to scale back our military because the idea of a two-front war was unimaginable, since the Cold War has ended (despite many loose nukes). Now that we have a two-front war, we can't even help those suffering in Sudan or deal with North Korea or Iran (although Iran is the next step in the neocons agenda). Withholding any other current events, Iran is the next target. If America does not attack Iran, Israel will with our backing.

I do not know of the "Nakie" thread of which you speak. It must be a few pages back on the Current Events board. I didn't see it on the main page. What happened?

Yeah, I may diet and exercise religiously, but do I attend all of my classes? My life is not a cakewalk. frown
