Well I'm most likely going to jinx myself by saying this, but i got my grade for the first half of the intensive chinese semester.
95%. I almost shit myself. The good kind of shit yourself of course. I need the good grades to keep my scholarship if I wan't to continue going to college.
I have been spending the majority of my days toiling away at Chinese. It sucks, cause during a regular summer I go kayaking, bike riding, paintballing, rock climbing, hanging out, getting trashed. Now all I have time for is bike riding and getting trashed.
And if I keep eating at the hundreds of different places to eat up here, I'll not only go broke, but get fat.
Anyway I am going back to crappass willmar for the weekend. I called back home, the classic 1-800-collect "calldavidatcollege" 2 second message, wait about 20 seconds, then they call back. hahaha i love doing that. Simple pleasures i guess.
Anyway back to the story, my best friend is going up to duluth for the weekend to visit his girlfriend, so that blows. Hmm.... all that is left to do in willmar is get trashed with my lesser 'best' friends. there goes intelligent things out the window.
Oh and our Chinese profs, in their infinite mercy informed us that we will only be assigned 'Double' homework for the long weekend instead of 'triple' homework.
Sadly, i was relieved. Its still a good 5 hours of homework every day of the 3 day weekend. damn.
I'm wondering if i should even go back for the weekend at all. There is a LOT more to do here even taking into account the people i would see if i went home.
It is a tough call indeed.

I see that you are studying Chinese. My sister lives and works in Shanghai. She manages trade for the State of Michigan there. She studied Chinese at Michigan State.
I am a Spanish major. Languages run in my family. My mother has a degree in Latin and both were English majors in college.
