Here's an update on my Time Capsule/What I wanted to Accomplish in the next year blog.
1.) Was, to have my Slasher Movie Groundhog fully funded, or start shooting for free until I couldn't any longer.
Update: It was funded. Filmed. And now I have a first rough cut of it done. I guess last year I didn't really think I'd be as far as I am by now. I was being too realistic for my own good. Always shoot for the stars Future Dave Maggot. Thanks past Dave Maggot. I will.
2.) Was, I wanna see my band play some awesome shows. Out of state what not. Yadda yadda record label press an album. So forth. What not.
Update: We played in New Hampshire. Last July. So I guess that was out of state. Then one show since then. Recorded what we had ourselves. Put out a demo. Wrote new songs.
We have a pretty sweet show coming up on July 19th, at O'brien's in Allston, MA. With a prett awesome band from down south. So that rules.
3.) Was, I would like to write, and work on as many other people's films and my films, as I can within the span of a year.
Update: So since then I worked on Mathew Fisher's DJ STAN DA MAN. Rick Chandler's Witch Hunt. Went to the first premiere Of DJ last year. Going to the premiere of the new cut on June 26th. And the premiere of Witch Hunt June 4th. I wrote the first draft of my next feature film. Then I filmed my first feature film. It's been a pretty awesome year.
4.) Was, I would like to get out of my current day job cuz it's the devil. And get a job that's less the devil.
Update: I became Assistant Manager at my devil job. Now it's a super devil. Failed that wish pretty spectacularly.
5.) Was, I'd like to hug as many cats, and dogs as I can in a year.
Update: I've hugged quite a few. But not as many as I've wanted to. It's an infinite quota that cannot be met.
6.) Was, master the speed force. Or the force force. Or become Batman.
Update: nope. Not yet.
7.) Was, shoes with self tying laces. Or whatever. Hovverboards.
Update: You know what. We got fucking Hovverboards. Sort of. Not the ones I wanted. Just the exploding ones. It's like a big middle finger from the future. A big firey middle finger.
8.) Was, Teach cats to talk finally.
Update: Still working on it.
9.) Was, cake. Etc.
Update: I had many cakes.
10.) Was, my cat evolves into Battlecat, when I hold up a magical sword.
Update: Still chasing this dream. One day. One day.
Now I dunno if I'm supposed to put things here for what I wanna accomplish by this time next year. But I will. So here goes.
1.) Get a final cut of Groundhog done. Have the premiere, and press the physical copies. Submit it to film festivals. And do the round of horror conventions. Get a final draft done of my next movie.
2.) Play more shows. Mail out the demo to labels.
3.) Turn 35. Let's see how this goes. Holy shit.
4.) I have a nephew coming in August. Be a good uncle. Watch horror movies with him. Teach him guitar. Keyboards and how to growl.
5.) Take a vacation. Like an actual vacation somewhere else but my house.
6.) Teach cats how to rap. Paula Abdul videos showed that we should have advanced to this ages ago.
7.) Be a pesky T.V. show Detective. Show up on cases when I'm clearly unwelcome. Rub everyone the wrong way with my unorthodox style. And by the end of the day have them admit that, that was some damn fine Detectiving.
8.) Get tattooed. A lot.
9.) Eye lasers.
10.) Start a movement called Slip n' Slide across America. Cuz that would be intense.
