Last time I had my teeth cleaned I really sponged the lady for information. Apparently, when you eat sugar the acid levels in your mouth go up for an hour which makes it hard for tartar to form but acid weakens your teeth and wears away the enamel making them more sensitive. So if you eat candy, you are supposed to binge on it all at once and then rinse your mouth with water. If you brush your teeth right after eating candy, the acids do even more damage as they are ground into your teeth with your toothbrush.
Teeth are horrible. I hate them.
