ah, is this the wedding that your ex will be at? no wonder you were ranting about her. with a visit so close at hand i am sure she is top of mindshare. just remember, weddings, anger & booze don't mix well. (and yes, i do speak from experience.) hopefully everyone wil be well behaved, but weddings can be a toss up.

yes, my twin, i can totally relate to your rant about your ex feeling guilty instead of just treating people right int the 1st place. the consumer spend much time apologizing to me & my response, is, "just don't do it. sorry only goes so far."

nm is supposed to be really cool. i drove thru once, almost, hitting a heard of elk, but can't say that i've actually spent time there.

actually my neighbors have always been friendly, but very much on the square side. when we 1st moved in we were coming from el cerrito, where none of our neighbors spoke to us until we were packing the moving truck to leave. & we lived there for 4 years! the 1st day we were here these people we talking to us, making us dinner & offering us their help. coming from a city where no one talked to each other, it was a little overwhelming at 1st, but now i like this college town friendliness.

good for you for not rocking back & forth in a dark room for 2 days after signing your life away. but hiking & drinking for a few hours do fall into the decompression realm.

bummer about your friends moving to europe. the upside is that you will have someone to stay with the next time you go. are they planning on going somewhere that you would actually want to visit? can they legally work in the EU? it can be tough for americans to get work visas over there given the high rate of unemployed europeans.

ah closure...that can be a tricky 1. what does it mean anyway? sometimes you think you have it & you don't or you think you never got it & you really did. or 1 person got it, but not the other. since you say that she is an expert at passive aggresiveness, she'll probably never want to give it to you just so it will always stick in your craw. after being together so long i am sure that you know how to push each others buttons. i know we do...

i think the best one can hope for is to resolve it for one's self. something i am working on too...those years happened & there were good times that i don't want to forget despite all the negative crap that went along with it. god i'm deep. HA!

yes, let's have drink when you are back from nm. could be in the big e or the big c, just as long as you don't openly mock my current vehicle: a shit kickin' 73 ford f250. (the consumer has the real car cuz he needs it for work. see how nice i am? i pay for the damn thing & i still let him use it! oh sorry, that was an un expected rant...) thank god i don't have to choose btw whiskey & beer. truth be told i have been siding in favor of whiskey lately to cut down on the calories, but don't let beer know: he get's sooooooooooo jealous.
